I'm Nicolas, and I live in San Diego, California. I am currently a student double-majoring in Economics and Political Science at Santa Clara University. My tutoring journey began a few years ago when I assisted grammar school kids with their reading skills.The subjects I tutor include Geography, Elementary School Math, Middle School Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1-2, Geometry, SAT prep, Advanced Placement Courses (US History, Comparative Government and Politics, US Government and Politics), American History, European History, and other subjects. Out of all the subjects I teach, History stands out as the one that appeals to me the most because truth is sometimes odder than fiction, and it explains how modern society was built.Compared to other teachers, I am pretty relaxed in my approach since I go to school myself, and know that some problems can be solved in more than one way.My high school lacrosse coach inspired me to practice something a lot to excel at it. This motivated me to encourage my students to find problem-solving strategies for themselves rather than just given answers to memorize.My favorite hobbies are playing the guitar, computer games, flag football, and yoga.
